⚡ General

What is SatLegal?
SatLegal is an AI-powered Indian legal analysis platform. You describe your legal situation in plain language, and our system maps it to applicable Indian laws, assesses your case strength, and produces a full legal report — in under 5 minutes.
Is SatLegal a law firm or legal service?
No. SatLegal is a legal technology tool that provides informational analysis only. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. The reports are for educational and preparation purposes only. For actual legal representation, please consult a licensed lawyer.
Is SatLegal available in Hindi?
Yes — you can type your legal situation in Hindi, Hinglish (Hindi in Roman script), or English. Our engine understands all three. E.g., "mere landlord ne security deposit wapas nahi ki" will be correctly analysed.
Do I need to create an account to use SatLegal?
No account is needed to run the free analysis. You only need to create an account (email or phone + password) when you want to save your report, access your dashboard, or book a lawyer consultation.

⚖️ Analysis & Reports

How does the law mapping work?
Our engine matches keywords and phrases in your description against 78 major Indian laws using a three-tier scoring system (exact, strong, and contextual matches). It also uses your answers to contextual questions (like religion, property type, employment type) to further refine the results.
Which laws does SatLegal cover?
We cover 78 major Indian laws across categories including family law (Hindu Marriage Act, Muslim Personal Law, Special Marriage Act), property (RERA, Transfer of Property Act), criminal (BNS, POCSO, SC/ST Act), consumer (Consumer Protection Act), employment (Minimum Wages Act, Industrial Disputes Act), cyber (IT Act, DPDP Act), civil (CPC, Limitation Act), and more. See our Laws Library for the full list.
What does the case strength score mean?
The case strength score (shown as a percentage) estimates how well-positioned your case is based on: the number of applicable laws, the quality of your answers to assessment questions, and the evidence/documents you have. A score of 70%+ indicates strong grounds. It is not a guarantee of any outcome.
Can I save and access my report later?
Yes — if you are logged in when you complete the analysis and make payment, the report is automatically saved to your dashboard under My Cases. You can also download it as a PDF at any time from the report page.
Can I share the report with my lawyer?
Yes. You can download the report as a PDF using the "Download PDF" button, or use the "Share Report" button to get a link. Most lawyers appreciate receiving a structured summary before a consultation.

🔒 Privacy & Security

Is my legal situation kept private?
Yes. Your case description and analysis are private to you. We do not share your data with third parties, advertisers, or any government agencies. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Please read our Privacy Policy for full details.
Do you sell my data?
No. We never sell or rent your personal data. We use anonymised aggregate usage data to improve our law engine.
How is my payment information handled?
All payments are processed by Razorpay, which is PCI DSS compliant. SatLegal never stores your card or bank details — those are handled entirely by Razorpay's secure servers.

💳 Pricing & Payment

Is the analysis free?
Yes. Running the 6-step analysis (describe, questions, laws, strength, documents) is completely free. You only pay ₹499 to unlock and download the full legal report, or ₹2,499 for the report plus a 30-minute lawyer consultation.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept all major Indian payment methods via Razorpay: UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), Visa/Mastercard/RuPay debit and credit cards, and Net Banking from all major Indian banks.
Can I get a refund?
If the report does not match your described situation or if our system failed to identify relevant laws, contact us within 48 hours at support@satlegal.in for a review. Refunds are processed within 5–7 working days via the original payment method.
Will I receive a GST invoice?
Yes. A GST invoice is available from the Transactions tab in your dashboard. If you need a specific format for business expense purposes, contact support@satlegal.in.

🧑‍⚖️ Lawyer Consultation

What is included in the ₹2,499 consultation?
The ₹2,499 plan includes: the full digital legal report (same as ₹499 plan) + a 30-minute one-on-one call with a verified Indian lawyer matched to your case type + a drafted legal notice if required + follow-up Q&A within 48 hours.
How is the consultation conducted?
After payment, you'll book a time slot via our consultation calendar. The lawyer will call you at your chosen time. Sessions are conducted via phone or video call. You'll receive a confirmation with the joining details after booking.
How are lawyers matched to my case?
We match you with a lawyer based on your case type (e.g., property, family, criminal), your city, and the lawyer's availability and specialisation. All lawyers on SatLegal are Bar Council registered and have been vetted by our team.
Can I choose a specific lawyer?
Yes — you can browse available lawyers on our Find a Lawyer page and select one directly. If you'd prefer our matching algorithm to pick for you, that's also an option.

👨‍💼 For Lawyers

How can I register as a lawyer on SatLegal?
Visit our Lawyer Registration page. You'll need your Bar Council number, a valid ID, and your practice areas. Approval typically takes 2 working days after verification.
How much does SatLegal charge lawyers?
Lawyers keep the majority of the ₹2,499 consultation fee. SatLegal's platform fee is deducted per consultation. Contact partners@satlegal.in for the current fee structure.

🎯 Accuracy & Limitations

How accurate is SatLegal?
Our law engine achieves over 99% accuracy on our regression test suite of 1,000 standardised scenarios across all 78 laws. However, real-world legal situations can be complex. We recommend using the report as a starting point, not as a final determination.
What are the limitations of SatLegal?
SatLegal cannot: (1) assess facts you haven't shared, (2) predict court outcomes, (3) account for state-level variation in law application, (4) replace a lawyer for court filings, or (5) provide advice specific to your jurisdiction within India in every case. Always verify with a qualified legal professional before taking legal action.
Is SatLegal providing legal advice?
No. SatLegal is only a legal technology tool that provides informational analysis based upon your stated facts. We are not a law firm and do not provide any such legal advice. The reports are for educational purposes only. For a legal representation, please consult a qualified lawyer.
What if my query is outside SatLegal's coverage?
SatLegal covers 66+ Indian law categories including criminal law (BNS 2023, BSA 2023), family law, property, labour, consumer protection, land acquisition, municipal disputes, and more. If your query falls outside our current coverage, the platform will inform you and recommend you consult a qualified lawyer directly. We are continuously expanding our laws database.
Is SatLegal updated with the latest laws?
Yes. Our laws database is updated regularly to reflect new legislation and amendments. For example, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 are already included.
